The percentage of broken grain is an important quality and evaluation criteria for the
threshing process. With a new test rig an impact load on grain kernels at high velocities can
be realized to understand the breakage process of grain. By analyzing the breakage
probability and the breakage function of grain with this test rig further basics to optimize the
construction and adjustment of harvesting technique are given.
